Title:

Is the minimum wage in Colombia reasonable for a pleasant life?

Thesis Statement:
The existence of the minimum wage in Colombia is insufficient. The costs and benefits it offers are still a matter of debate.

Supporting Ideas:
  • Limiting oneself to living by earning a minimum wage has become one of the most difficult problems for Colombians.
  • It is important to create and give some meaning to the word "equity". The inequality that currently occurs between the Colombian government and the citizens of middle and lower classes is unusual.
  • The fact that our national government does nothing to improve living conditions is alarming.
  • Although the minimum wage is not enough to pay the expenses we have as Colombian citizens, we try to survive with loans, selling, or even changing our own belongings for others or for food.
  • The minimum wage and the government itself are basically one of the main culprits of why crime rates are so high.
  • Talking about the minimum wage only directly affects the working poor, since the slope is defended by those who govern the country, the big companies and their CEO's.
Conclusion
We can conclude that the minimum wage does not provide enough opportunities for people to have a decent and just existence. They can buy food or pay rent for their homes or even have their own. Unfortunately, they cannot pay for simple things because it could mean a big hole for monthly taxes. It is important to note that when some people are involved in money problems, they usually choose the option of suicide. These are the consequences that we find because the Legal Minimum Wage in force does not cover all the needs of Colombians. On the one hand, they have to request a loan from their relatives or lenders, or today a large percentage of citizens choose to steal. The minimum wage can create a dense atmosphere because many families only have one income, so some of them have to leave the country and their families only to find a better job and then send money to their family.

Patients right to keep fighting This article got me! It was really hard to go through it, I felt as if the writer were talking to me, I couldn't stop thinking about one of my grandparents suffering from a terrible disease. It was pretty obvious doctor was totally in agreement, but at the same time he was totally scared for his patients suffering: " This leaves me in an uncomfortable state: caught between my medical recommendation to pursue less aggressive care and my patient’s primal desire to rid his body of cancer " But even though for doctors, it is difficult to accept the different changes and the aftermath that chemical procedures can make: "She is only 34 years old, but after two rounds of chemotherapy, her youth is steadily leaving her ." It is sad knowing that people are suffering from these terrible diseases just like Cancer, but the worst of all is knowing that sometimes treatment is worse than illness itself, a clear example of agreement on...
